Cisternino

Lying on a slight rise, it overlooks the Itria Valley. It is located in the last strip of the south-eastern Murgia, completely immersed in the trulli.

Historic Center

The historic center is waiting to be discovered: a melting pot of alleys, streets and buildings from which to be enchanted.

Like the main gate of the town, the 17-meter high Torre di Porta Grande or the Mother Church, dedicated to St. Nicholas, built in the fourteenth century on an ancient early Christian church.

Typical dishes

Famous above all for its "bombette", the real specialty of Cisternino is the "gnummarieddhu" or roulades of lamb entrails cooked on the grill.
